 Interfaith Ramadan* Program & Dinner

Date: Thursday, July 9, 2015

Time: 7:00 PM

Venue: The Interfaith Center -1400 Washington Ave, Albany NY 12222

University at Albany Uptown Campus (Near the SEFCU Arena)

 * Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting, developing self-control and kindness, a time of comprehensive thanksgiving and charity. It’s a time of training oneself to become a better person spiritually and improving relationships with family, friends and neighbors.


 7:00 pm: Interfaith Program with representatives from five different faith traditions sharing their spiritual/religious readings/scriptures about caring for the poor, the homeless, the hungry.

 Guest Speakers:

Baha’i: Nazanin Kamali

Christian: Deacon Walter Ayres

Jewish: Rabbi Nomi Manon

Muslim: Kirstin Vanderheof

Sikh: Dr. Paul Uppal

 Dinner to follow at Sunset

 Note: Dinner is FREE, People of ALL FAITHS are welcome to attend and bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food pantry or shelter.
