The Turkish Cultural Center in collaboration with The Interfaith Center at the University at Albany cordially invites you to attend a lecture by Imam Ibrahim Sayar.

As you know, one of the current global threats to humanity is terrorism. Extremist groups use inhumane means of violence against men, women, and children. They take religion as their reference to justify the terror against humanity. Unfortunately, these groups continuously recruit youngsters from all over the globe.

We organized this event to share the position of many Muslims against these brutal actions. We have invited Imam Ibrahim SAYAR, who is the Director of the Center for Interfaith Affairs at Peace Islands Institute New York. He has prepared a very informative and effective presentation about extremist and terrorist groups. He has spoken on this topic on many occasions at various institutions nationwide. Imam Sayar will inform us about the historical and theological background of these groups and their place in Islamic sources. He will compare the interpretations of these groups with the teachings of the Quran.

Who are these extremist people?

What are they trying to accomplish?

What is their mindset?

How do they recruit youngsters from all over the world?

What is the theology behind it?

Are they Islamic?

Should we feel threatened as US citizens?

What do we need to do?
