refugee visibility day

In partnership with UAlbany Peace Action, the UAlbany Interfaith Coalition will be tabling with other student organizations all day in the LC Concourse on Monday, February 29, 2016 for Refugee Visibility Day: an advocacy event as part of our ongoing “#RiseWithRefugees” campaign!

We aim to steer the focus on the current refugee “crisis” in Europe away from statistics and political debates, and instead toward refugees as individuals. Joined by numerous other organizations, our goal is to collectively celebrate the humanity of refugees, as well as spread awareness about the challenges they face. There will be a gallery of photos that capture the struggles of refugees, but also capture their human spirit. Our tables will have plenty of activities and resources, including background information, displays of different perspectives on the issue, a “Truth or Myth” game, petition signing, donation boxes, videos, and a place to write messages of hope for refugees.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us in advocating for refugees across the world! Stand with UAlbany Peace Action and our collaborating orgs as we #RiseWithRefugees !
